GUA Muzik - SuperGig - 30th May 2008

In commemoration of the launching of GUA Muzik recently, a SuperGig concert was held in Bukit Jalil Sports Complex to promote the awareness of people about the latest music portal. They claimed to be the first, although we do know that the first was Music Canteen which did not make it to the eyes of Malaysians. Perhaps, this is the first launch to promote Malaysia's music in support of legal music downloading. Entrance is stated as free in the site anyway.

Under Nuffnang's invitation,I had went there with my dear as early as 7.30pm, because I never knew that Bukit Jalil was so near Cheras that it took just 10 minutes to reach there. It was really rather pointless as there weren't that many people and the concert started at 9pm. The response was rather cold initially as there weren't many "pass-holders" to the fenced are the concert that could fit 1000 people. So, everyone was invited into the "kandang kambing" to watch it, so that we could fill the space for video recording. There were more than 500 people, and I actually lost count of the people there.

Some of the music were really good, though I had no idea what's the title of the songs. Among the artistes that I'd like were Nora, Altimet, Ella and Karen Kong. The lightings were rather beautifully done for such a small stage performance. Each artist was given the chance to perform 2 songs, as there were 14 different singers/bands. Well, this concert is to promote the artistes anyway, so 2 each ought to be enough. They had even given a free trial of 7 days for those who attend. The temporary Id and password was inscribed on the big 'hand' that they usually give us in the concert. So, here's the pictures below:

Anyway, I did not finish the whole performance since I went back at 10.30pm. I need to get back for supper plus the journey home to Setapak takes around 40 minutes. I'd stopped by at McD in Taman Connaught. Anyway, it was a rather enjoyable experience, having a break from my usual routine studies. Thanks for the invitation anyway. n_n
