Exam's over! Went to 1 Utama yesterday with 9 girls,
and mind you, I'm still a male. Was so so tired after a whole day out of house. Went for OSPE in the morning, and came back home around 1am. Overall, it's quite enjoyable. Now I know why Wai Sun would like to go there window shopping, but I still can't stand it if I go there everyday, because there's no arcade there. -.-" By the way, the girls were supposed to surprise Jean Jean with the Mocha cake they bought for her be-earlierd birthday, and even make Alex to come down. Haha.. Bet Jean Jean might have doze off waiting for the 'surprise'. I didn't join them because I don't want to get demerit for coming back late at the hostel at 12.30am. You think? Just kidding. I don't even have enough merit points to be deducted. It needs at least the sum of merit points of 10 people like me to have at least a chance to fight for a place in KT1. That's why I compete for another merit, to stay at home. Keke.. Just don't want to reach home too late.
By the way, since the exam is totally over, here's the review of the exams I'd taken.
Monday, 27th Nov '06: Cellular Biomolecules (9-11am)A paper with moderate difficulty. That is my impression. I might not know how to do all, but at least I know what the question wants. The only obstacle is the time factor, with 45 objectives (One best answer and Extended matching items) plus 3 essays to be done in 2 hours. Good for me, because I crap without thinking, so I barely finish in time.
Tuesday, 28th Nov '06: Body Tissue (9-11am) and Personal and Professional Development (2.30-3.30pm)The body tissue really kill me, although the objectives were moderate, the essay questions were ambigious, there goes my crapping again. Some questions are too wide and less marks, so we do not now how much to write. -.-" In the end, I barely finish on time too.
PPD was the easiest paper I've ever seen. We finish everything in half an hour, although I sat there for another half. Straightforward questions, either you know or do not know, or just use your common sense.
Wednesday, 29th Nov 'o6: Membrane and Receptors(9-11am)This is one of the most challenging paper so far. To me, it's quite tricky, and I was having a 'great' time over the questions and essays. But, everything is still manageable and answerable, although whether it is right or wrong is another issue.
Thursday, 30th Nov '06: Human Genetics (9-11am) and Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia (2.30-3.45pm)Genetics is my favourite subject, and the one staying the freshest in my mind. Should have no problem if I didn't do any careless mistakes in the objectives. The essay questions were from past year, although I didn't really prepare for it, unless you mean flipping through the pages is. The 'best' thing I got was sitting beside Jean Jean. I was laughing at Jo Ee because he said he felt pressured by Jean Jean, Stella and Soon Hooi for the first 2 papers as they were clustered together, and I got a 'feel' of one of it in the end. -.-"
TITAS was even better, after reading so much, it's still down to the guessing game. So many Betul and salah to darken the circles. 60 questions, 5 choices each from A-E, and we have to andwer betul or salah for each choice. That makes 300! If you're correct, add 1 mark, wrong, minus 1 mark. Don't answer and it's neutral. After 45 minutes, the answer sheet is full of dark circles. It's just like a Southern blotting of RFLPs. -.-" Since Dekan came out of the hall already, the ketua jabatan including me went out as well.
5th Nov '06: OSPE (Lab practical)One of the worst day of my life. After so much hardwork (a few days) looking at the slides and Histology book, I still couldn't figure out was was the thing they were asking me on the slide. The magnification was different from what I'd expected, cause it's too small and hard to see. We used to focus more, and this is such al et down. Could only identify about 2-3 slides out of 10, and the rest are pure crap. Just hope to score points on the characteristics. They could even ask things that we didn't know that we had to learn! That's fine for me for module papers, but histo? If you are able to memorise eveything, you might as well transfer to the 3rd year next sem. Biomolecules wasn't really hard, just that I didn't focus on the principles, hence crap, crap and crap. The best thing, I think I did badly for my PPD and Clinical Skill. I didn't do what the rest did. I didn't ask the 'girl' in PPD OSPE what was her ambition. And I didn't even offer a seat to the 'patient' in CS. How would I know actually, because that is not my place and I'm not sure whether to offer a seat or not? After gruelling questions in OPSe slides and the rest, was quite blur already. Going to get an egg for both. Haiz.. Really really sad. Wonder how could I overcome this. It really knock ot my confidence. For the first time, I really really had the feeling of LOSING! The heart just doesn't feel nice, aching every now and then Perhaps this is the best 'kick' I had in the course so far. The first I had. The first kiss of death after a long time when I couldn't even remember my last one before this. perhaps this is a good lesson for me. Maybe it's time to really work hard.
