A Tragedy of Love

9

A bud of love, begins with uncertainty, sheer joy and excitement. A blooming love holds to faith, trust and understanding. And yet, in the end, love loses all of those before, if it ever does. Of course, for the ending, it is of a relationship, for death could never split love apart. And how many would wish that theirs would never end, as in the romantic acronym of H.O.L.L.A.N.D; Hope our Love Lasts And Never Ends.

The truth is, love was never set by destiny. Love plays in our own hands. We ourselves who determine whether it shall go on or comes to an end. Even a physical tragedy could do no more tragic than a tragedy of love. The pain that it could bring you that you had sometimes thought that you'd rather suffer in hell than do ever experience the kind of pain. The pain that no words could describe the agony in our souls. And yet, we embrace it, and step forward to experience it, and risk being in such pain, for we knew that we could actually find the true joy and the meaning in live. The fact that your partner is only unique out of 7 billion humans living on this 3rd rock from the Sun does only some consolation if you had ever consider the risks and uncertainties that we might face.

And what if we lose our special ones just as our love do bloom? Or we lose them when our love was on the brink of breaking? What if the love has just ended? Would it make a difference by then? Do we really truly appreciate someone when we lose them?

Every departure is always an adventure. A loss after having that special someone into your life is always the worst it seems, just as the saying goes, "Better not having something so dear to you at all, than having to lose it after that." But somehow, those we love would never have really leave us, for they would remain in our hearts forever.

P.S. I Love You is definitely a chick flick, one that I've got to admit can be touching and cause lots of sloppy moments. Play this movie in the dry barren lands in Africa, and I assure you that the land would be filled with moisture once again. I have not read the book though, for I had many more important things to do, yet the movie was a decent one for me, despite getting unwanted criticisms around the globe. The ending was kind of lame and abrupt, but to me, the process and journey that it depicts was good enough.

The story depicts of a young couple who were happily married, despite the constant heated arguments that had left the husband injured most of the time. Well, arguments are there, of course, in any relationship. Some may call it interaction, and some may call it bonding. Whatever it is, just be aware that it is also part of the journey of being together.

And however loving this couple was, GOD tends to play cruel. The hubby had to move on to the afterlife one step ahead of her. Brain tumor it seems. And he had to endure the physical pain of cancer with all his might but to no avail. It was fated to be his funeral in the end. thus, no more happily ever after like any typical chick flick. No more being together at old age. No more "I Love You" from him. He just 'vanish' out of her life.

The story unfolds when the wife found out that he wasn't really gone. Somehow, he still exists in her life. She thought that she would be lonely with the absence from her husband. No hugs, no kisses, and no more making out or "hot sex" anymore. Yet, he had made his presence in her life. A letter a day out of practically unexpected places and people, made some surprise that he had concocted for her. He made sure that she would live her life as meaningful as ever, as though he was there with her. So, with the husband's arrangements (before he passed away), she made her journey of excitement, never without relinquishing their fond memories together, until the very end. It does pain her at times, having to relive the sweet memories for that one more time, as it made her miss him even more and the longing grows deeper.

What was her husband's intentions? What was the ending like? That, I'll leave it to you readers to find out yourself. Perhaps the ending was a good one in the books. Perhaps it's not. Perhaps it just meant that we should explore our own endings, and to appreciate our significant others, living everyday as if it was the first and the last day, and also to acknowledge the presence of others in life. Whatever it is, cherish and appreciate your significant other, and live in trust and faith, for no other matters anymore.

A Post Dedicated To My Dear

24
My dear had never like stitching. What else cross-stitching. In fact, she had never really done any stitching before this. But she had done this for me:

Isn't this wonderful? It's hard and difficult for beginner to finish this in 2 weeks time, and it's quite a large piece. See the pen at the right bottom corner? That would be the relative scale of the workpiece.

And it was a surprise present which I got today when she came all the way from Ipoh to give it to me in KL. n_n

I'm kind of speechless, and I'm thankful for having you in my life. You have always been there listening to my problems, for all those times you stood by me, and the concerns you'd shown me, I'm really really touched.

I know I can be a jerk at times, and how my ego had been merciless, and there were times when I had u broken down in tears for the silly things that I'd done. I'm truly sorry, for I know that I'm far from being perfect, though I think I should have improve a little bit at least, after months.

I feel glad to be with you. I feel honored. I feel proud. I feel...I feel being loved, that is, to be "sayang"ed. You have always been understanding, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you.

With love,
Yee Ming

P.S. I Love You

*Note: This would really be a rare post as the author would usually prefer to keep his love life personal. But this is rather notable in the author's opinion, so an exception is given for this. n_n

Of Dreams and Dreads

3
In 2 weeks time, you won't be seeing me blogging this often. Maybe once in a while to try releasing some stress. But the start of 3rd year may not be as easy as it seems. I am proud to say that I'd utilize my 5 weeks holiday to the full, enjoying myself very much for the 1st time. Perhaps it's really because of the lack of holidays before this. I am happy that I am on the verge of recovering, so this is no big deal anymore. Stress does change a person after all. And perhaps time and events.

In 5 days time, I'll be heading for the HOPE Mission Possible HIV conference. I'm sure it's going to be fun from the enthusiasm shown by the organizers. The theme of the events and the colors show the cheerfulness of the event. I'm sure some of you may not agree that HIV conference something to be happy about, but think again. Optimism ensure that lesson are well learned. Cheerfulness tells us that life must go on, and we hope that the stigmatization of AIDS patients could be avoided. None of them really want to be infected by the HIV. Besides, only a small minority of them are truly promiscuous or being an addict. And the rest suffer the effect of stigmatization because of these few? The children who are HIV carriers do not wish to be born as such. Do you think they would like to carry the virus around? So, I'm looking forward to the conference.

Before the conference, I'll most probably be going to watch Ironman at Imax. Many of you might wonder why would I want to watch it there. It's because I haven't been there yet! And I just realized that the ticket price is now only RM15. Worth the deal huh? I'm sure not many of you know about it. I'll let you know if it's really true or it's only for certain movies.

As the holidays are approaching the end, AMSA is going active again after what seems to be a holiday. I heard that the next East Asia Medical Students' Conference may be held in Malaysia, which would be around February 2009. Monash University in Malaysia is bidding for it. It's kind of funny when Monash University is not even a member of AMSA Malaysia yet! Maybe it's because the current president of AMSA International is an Ang Moh from Monash University Australia, so the affiliation let them bypass us? Who knows they might be able to do a better job, though I seriously view this "bypass" a sign of how AMSA Malaysia is disorganised to let this happen. But then again, I have not heard from our seniors yet, the executive committee of AMSA Malaysia. My friends had already complained that we had been left in the cold all these while. Hmmph..

Shifting back to my own life now, I'll most probably stay in Cheras for some time to get used to the environment in HUKM. Hope I'll get a place in the hostels inside of HUKM, not outside. The hostels inside have smaller rooms, but it's nearer. Plus, I might use it as a place to rest during traffic jam hours before I could get back home or need to stay back for some assignments?

Many coursemates had started studying on the postings that may be coming out as to familiarize with it. I don't feel like doing it since we don't even know which posting are we going to get! There's surgery posting, medicine posting, O & G posting and Family and Medicine(Epidemiology) posting for year 3. I think I'll just stay with non-kiasuness. Haha.. Been doing it quite well for last year. Life is too long to stay competitive, where knowledge is gained through a lifelong journey. I may not know where I may be heading next. I might be a general physician, I might be a specialist, I may join politics ( Whatever party that may stay relevant to my objectives in the future), I may be selling Bak Kut Teh, I may be a businessman, I maybe a monk or priest, or perhaps, a terrorist who specializes in Biochemical weapons. Lolz!!

So, I may take life as it is for now. One step at a time is wise, especially when you are treading on narrow steps. Of course, once you've gone past that, you can look forward and plan as far as you want! That is why there is always excitement in life, because we find excitement within us, just like we look for wisdom, joy and motivation. May we all succeed in our takings, my dear readers. Just remember the maxim "None is superior than the other." We are all special in our own ways.

And lastly, thank you all Nuffnangers and Entrecarders for giving me a good time blogging. I had never find blogging such an enjoyable experience before. Let's just say, they gave me the meaning of blogging and a great deal of friends from fellow bloggers. n_n

And this is so so true. X'P

Your Thinking is Concrete and Random

You are naturally inquisitive and curious.

You're excited by new ideas, and you are a true independent thinker.

You are interested in what is possible. You like the process of discovery.

You are often experimenting, challenging old ideas, and inventing new concepts.

Rules, restrictions, and limit don't really work for you.

You have to do things your own way, and you can't be bothered to explain yourself.

A Glimpse of Cambridge University

9
I believe this would be the second post for my visit in the UK. It's just some photos with a bit description here and there.

It was the month of Spring. The flowers were blooming, and the green luscious grass wave at us as our bus pass by. It was in the morning, so the weather was rather fine, unlike during the evenings, where April showers are always expected.

Cambridge University is a city by itself. I would rather call it a town actually, but by British definition, a city is defined by having at least one cathedral. So, Cambridge is a small city. Haha. This is the picture of one of the many hostels in Cambridge University. Decent, but rather quiet on such cold day. No one bothers to come out to play, or maybe they are attending lectures and tutorials. n_n Bicycles became the main transport in the university.

A view of the river(or canal) that runs across the city of Cambridge. There are boats too, to enjoy during the weekends.

One of the clock tower in Cambridge University. I wonder what it's called? Lolz..

The Cambridge's King's College. They have magnificent tall grand structures. What a view! But then, I guess if you study there, you'll grow bored out of it. X'P

The market right in the heart of Cambridge "city". (I'm still not over with the city -->town thing) So, the students would not need to go out of city to buy their needs. There's bread, flowers, books, fruits, locksmith and many more in the small decent market. The peripheral buildings house banks, restaurants, and even McD and Starbucks, just to name a few.

Here's a panoramic view of the market.

Another panoramic view

And just to conclude, all the buildings looks the same to me. I'm not an architect, so I don't appreciate the difference anyway. Overall, I think it's rather a new experience for me, since my campus is in the city, and there's not much land for a large campus, what else a river for boating! (Although nearby my hostel is Taman Titiwangsa where you can kayak, ride horses, jog and play any sports without the need to be afraid of the cold weather.) Yet, I think I'll go crazy if I am to study there due to the very very peaceful and serene environment which is too conducive for studying. I'll go nuts without shopping complexes and cinemas!! -.-" And there's no train station nearby to go to the city. Apparently, the head of Cambridge refused the proposal for a train near Cambridge to prevent their students from getting out of Cambridge easily. So, the students can stay in the hostels studying. Lolz!! So, never such a UNI!!

Memoirs of a Treasure Box

7
While trying to clean up the mess in my drawers, I stumbled upon some of the old antiques that I had owned throughout the years in my life. These are the few that were quite notable, and I shall tell of it one by one.

My Ninjutsu badge. Back when I was in standard 4, I took up Ninjutsu(Ninja) as a martial art. The word on the badge is "ren" in Mandarin, which means patience. Of course, I wouldn't be patient enough to learn the weapons as I quit when I was 12, which gave me a fair skill in handling short wooden sticks and a bit of knowledge of using a quarterstaff. All those fancy Ninchanku, wooden swords and shuriken? I've only seen them, and believe you me, that shuriken is hell lots of trouble using it. It bounces mostly off the trees when I threw it during the Ninjutsu camp.
I'm sure this is a common sight especially in Seksyen 5 school Wangsa Maju. We have to wear pinned name tags, otherwise fearing of being fined 50 sen for each offence. So, I'd carry an extra which costs only RM1.20 so that I can escape the fine.

Again, the long to be seen "Speak To Me in English Tags", which most schools would have. We have to wear it on a certain day every week, and whick day was it? The memory escapes me. What I knew was that I lost them and found them again, just to find out that I have 3 in my possession now.

My National Service ID card. I'm not sure whether the future batch of NS trainees have it or not, but this card was suppose to offer privilege to NS trainees, which to my surprise, was not even known by the staff of the outlets offering the privileges. The major participating company was MPH, and I was tuned down for all the offers, which was unlucky for me, as a few of my NS friends had manage to get their deals in MPH. -.-"

This is collar badge (or what u call it, I don't know) from Pizza Hut. I was awarded with this by the Area Manager, Mr Anthony on my 2nd day working there due to my "outstanding" performance of memorizing some abbreviations of their motivation motto. It just took me a few hours, but it sure took more than 2 months for other staff. Maybe it's because the words are in English, some very "Chim", don't know for what also. Motto should be simple and short. n_n

This is a badge for TARC lecturers to wear. I got it from Mr Lim You Sie(author of STPM Longman Chemistry books) on STPM result day for my achievements, or rather, his mistakes for causing a minor grade drop in the subpapers, and that had cost me RM1000. Well, never mind then, maybe I wasn't supposed to get that.

Guess no more and be envious. This is a condom box which I had got during the Taiwan's East Asian Medical Students Conference. It was given out as souvenirs to other delegates by the Japanese delegates. Well, no prize for guessing that their topic of disease was HIV.

This is an arcade coupon that I'd got on the last day in Taiwan Conference. Chin Kimg, Poh Jeann and I went to play in arcade in the wee hours, and we split the 18 coupons into 3 and kept it as some souvenir.

And this, is my Birthday present from Jabatan Paktorlogy in my fac. It's a "faculty" consisting of guys of my coursemates, which nothing good in their heads. It is a vibrator for erhem.. I toyed with it and find that I'd lose interest in no time. The vibrations is too strong that if I'd ever think of using it, it'll kill me first. But it can be a good massager though, on your back of course, you silly.

And this is no collection actually. This is the HUKM car sticker for the year 2008. I got it yesterday, and plan to stick it up later. This new sticker has security features that won't allow you to take it off and put it in other car, since it'll tear off easily.

And so, it's all finished being introduced, the stuff in my drawers that can be shown in public. Of course, I can't show you my collections of Playboys and Penthouses and British Nuts and whatevr there, you name it. Oops, I blurted it out. Haha..just kidding, I'd no idea how could I get them when I've been in Malaysia all my life. Until then, we shall meet again.

This is a post without title, for this is more of an entry into inner thoughts and mind. Our minds do not have a title, do we? As a usual distorted internal circadian rhythm, I had trouble sleeping for the past 2 days. For the first night, I rolled in bed till it was around 5am that I had fall into slumber. Be known, it is only 10pm in London time. My internal biological clock has gone awry. So I slept till it was 12pm when I was woken up by my mother to have my breakfast, erm, I mean brunch, or maybe it qualifies as lunch?

The second night was no different. Staying on bed rolling since 10 pm did me no good. I was wide awake mentally although my body has shown weary signs of exhaustion. have to blame on too much sleep during my travel back from London as well, which I thought was to kill time in the 13-hour journey back via direct flight. So, I changed my style, woke up and have supper, bath and drank a glass og milk with honey, with no avail. So I stood with time till 6.30am when I finally gave in. It was 11.30pm by London time.

I woke myself with alarm at 8am. Somehow I hadn't had any comfortable sleep. I have not adjusted to my own bed despite its comfort. I wonder the 12 days ordeal was perhaps too much for me to bear. So I had occasional short naps in between till it was 3pm, with internet to accompany me through the torture. Until when it was 5pm, the rain had stopped. I stood out quickly and got myself up and going to the field to do something I had long forgotten. EXERCISE.

A quick jog around the field near Y Sun's house reveal my current stamina, which is of nothing to be proud of. With a lap of around 400m, I was breathing out of exhaustion. And the basketball court there had only 2-3 people playing on the wet court. I wondered why had the rain hinder others to come since it never did that before, until I realised why. One of the hoops are gone, and the other in a not well maintained state.

I had to do with the basics all over again. I can't even dribble the ball properly. The ball can't even touch the hoops anymore. So I did some basics and not hoping for the best immediate results. I know it'll take a long time. I was playing back like a beginner did on the field, but without the beginner's luck that everyone once had. Under such condition, I bet Y sun would be happy thrashing me 10-0 at least.. Haha.. But U just do not care anymore. Scoring wasn't an option, shooting was. It doesn't matter where had I hit or arch the ball, what matters was that I enjoy the feeling of it. The moment the ball flies out of your hand, floating in the air and going down on a random target. The whooshing sound of the ball entering the basket doesn't matter anymore, but it did happen sooner than expected. Perhaps, it is because I am enjoying what I am doing, and not expecting to achieve what I had once achieved. I am alas, stress-free again for the moment. And I opt for a 3-pointer, to see whether it will go in the hoop. It barely scraped the rim, and I take it not of a sign of negativity but a sign of determination. Life is always fair, rewarding those who work hard, but better without the pressure. I smiled at that thought, feeling the joy free air that surrounds me, as I had lift my foot away from the ground as the fingers of mine touched the ball for the last time as it made its way up into the air, being a wingless ball that could fly, at least for that one moment.

And it went a perfect whoosh...

It was a sign of wisdom from up above. An advise well taken. Thank you.

A View of London (from my eyes)

2
London has always been known as an international city, where in fact is rather true as you can almost see more foreigners than Britons in there. But to me, it'll always remain as a place meant for a short visit and not for any long term stay. Life there is rather slow, and despite its nice historical buildings and the scenery out of London, the cold weather makes you want to stay indoor under your own war and cozy blanket. Below are some snaps that I'd put up as some of the places of interest.

See that tower? It's the British Telecom tower(aka Post Office Tower or BT Tower). Being one of the tallest building in London, it serves more of a landmark to tourists like me.

Here's the best snap I can get. The brown building is the main building campus of University College of London (UCL), if I'm not mistaken. The modern building behind is the rather new University College Hospital (UCH), which is the teaching hospital for UCL.

Another shot at the UCH building here.

The main entrance for the British Museum. I find it uninteresting as it have collections of world artifacts, mostly from China. What do you call this if not of theft, when they ought to be returned to China? Entrance is free though, so you don't have to pay to enter, a good news for 'kedekut' people like me. X'P

The hind entrance of British Museum.

Did I just say I was in Singapore? Nope, I'm posing with the lion at the hind entrance of British Museum. n_n

I'm sure everyone have heard of Trafalgar Square, one of the famous assets in Monopoly UK, central in the heart of London. There weren't many pigeons on that day, as it was used as the finishing point for London Marathon on that day. So, the humans scared off the pigeons afterall, or rather the smell of stench sweat.

Just in front of Trafalgar Square is the National Gallery. It houses collection of greatest paintings of European origin, including Da Vinci's Virgin of the Rocks. I must admit that his paintings were the most spectacular of all sorts, and some of the art pieces were quiet impressive. Inside the gallery are many small rooms housing paintings from various time and places, such that I actually had got lost in it, just because I hadn't take a map with me at the entrance. This is a worthwhile place to visit, if you ask me, especially when admission is also free!~

This is one of the famous theaters in London. Surprisingly enough, the Britons prefer theaters over cinemas as they hold great pride in their own tradition. It doesn't really matter if the performance is the same over the years despite having different casts. This, I find as rather lame and boring of the Britons. Even the cinemas only show UK movies and very few US movies if there is any. I can dare say that Malaysia have a better selection of movies to choose from, especially if you're in KL.

The same goes to their publishings. You won't be seeing any US published books there, unless if there's UK versions of it. I've checked out the medical books in store there and all are UK titles, which lack illustrations and consists of mainly words. No wonder UKM uses US books! Their pride could have been their downfall if they go on like this. -.-"

This is the Chinatown of London in Picadilly Circus. Don't expect cheap Rolex nor fake goods there, because all you'll find are restaurants and some grocery shops. Nothing of interest here, as it is just half the length of Petaling street. Very short indeed. The food there are totally way off as you can see that there's no Chinese eating there, mostly 'Ang Mohs' only. This is what they call "Tipu Ang Moh". Well, most of the restaurants serve the same stuff, Roast Ducks and Dim Sum being the only delicacies of the Chinese food variety. So, I'll recommend the '2nd Chinatown' in London to get your Chinese food, right along the street where the subway station Bayswater is located. The Malaysian embassy and Malaysian Hall is just nearby within walking distance from there.

Overall, I find that London is the most enjoyable place among the tour cities I'd gone to in UK. Otherwise, I still think that Malaysia is still a better place to live. I was more than glad to be sweating as I walk around HUKM yesterday getting some stuff down. After all, it is home sweet home. n_n

The Simple Truth

This is a response to a post from Y Sun titled "Is Marriage Necessary?"

I think the illustration above, in a way, depicts everything. There's this saying that goes, "Sex is to men as marriage is to women."

Or perhaps, you can check some irony in "Marriage is the price men pay for sex and sex is the price women pay for marriage."

So, is marriage necessary for love? Is sex necessary for love? Ponder upon these simple questions and reflect it yourselves, my dear readers.

As a matter of fact, I do not usually state my facts as solid as an iron fist. They flow like a stream passing through the rocks, never able to displace the rocks, but yet able to shape them with time. And the rock could never stop the flowing stream, but they could alter its directions of flow. That is how it works, and I'm quite comfortable with it.

Marriage is defined as a union between a men and a women, and in my opinion, should remain so. But the legalization of gay marriages in certain societies makes the scope wider, thus it can be only said to involve two individuals. Here, I should emphasize again that I'm not against gays, but I do not embrace their practices, although I abhor gay pastors in churches. Again, marriage is something which binds two person together, such that the society would recognize them as a couple, in other words, keeping a hands off sign to the rest (Although the ethics and moral in this has dwindled with the emergence of more and more films portraying adultery as a norm in the society) It is, in fact, the so-called once-in-a-lifetime experience that the people in the wedding business use as an excuse to squeeze each ounce of juice from your wallet. Of course, a marriage should not be viewed as something that strengthen your relationship, but rather a fruit of your strong relationship.

Let me share you an opinion from what I've heard from friends around me. The fantasies of most guys I met involve sex while the fantasies of most girls I met involve marriage. Therefore, I do not see any wrong with having any fantasies, because it is just a normal process and behavior. (Despite the fact that the females have always manage to inch closer to their fantasies compared to men, with their extremely manipulative skills) What one need to realize is that fantasies are always fantasies, so keep your reality in check, unless your dad owns the bank.

In my opinion, marriage is just a step up towards another level of responsibility, just like having a child. Having such responsibilities would require a matured and sound mind, as in being able to handle a situation together and willing to face the problems together. As such abilities can be learnt along during the years of marriage, I do not advise for perfectionism before marriage. What is required is a willing mind who's mentally prepared for it, preferably with planning (or some ideas, at least) after marriage, and all should be able to go on smoothly, as well as ensuring a more stable relationship. Of course, this does not include shotgun marriage, arranged marriage, emotional marriage, blind marriage, bridal-for-sale marriage, etc.

So, for some, especially in the Western Countries, cohabitation is practised as a premarriage relationship, at least giving some time for each other to get along better and understand each other better. I'm sure that would be better than realizing that your husband/wife is a monster only after marriage and just too late. And yet, that, would cause some flinch to some if not all my readers who are of Asian cultural values. This would spark another round of endless debate, but that altogether, is another different story.

And since my answers would be so lengthy when people ask me if marriage is necessary, I'll just stick with the uppermost illustration in this post, THE SIMPLE TRUTH.

Saya Anak Malaysia

After 9 days in UK, I do really miss Malaysia. I miss the food, I miss the people, I miss the place, I miss the weather, I miss my home, I miss my bed, and of course, I miss Nuffnang!!

I know very well that I love Malaysia, and would stay with it, but this vacation to UK enforce my believe that Malaysia is the haven for me. Believe it or not, but life is never better here in UK. Every place has its pro and cons, so I'll stick with Malaysia. Many people who say overseas are better, they had never been overseas. They had never work here, they had never really stay here to look and observe. Red tape, poverty, crime rate, inflation, racism, they are no better than Malaysia. And oh yes, the moon is just as round as the one in Malaysia, and the grass is just as green. You'll have to take my words for it, or you come here measure it yourself. X'P

And 9 days away from Malaysia, I'd realised there's so many changes in Malaysia. Boy oh boy, how could I missed so much in the everchanging politics now? -.-"

I guess that's alright. I'll be heading back to KL from London tomorrow at 10pm. Now, it's 8pm in London. Plus a 13 hour journey? Ah..It'll be very good to be home.

I miss the food the food. Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Kuew Tiau Goreng, Noodle Soup, Bak Kut Teh, and every thing that you can eat.

And I HATE Fish and Chips!!
And WESTERN FOOD!!
And oh ya, I just love Nuffnang. Just when my visitors drop and I thought that I'd no hope of getting ads with such low rate, they just offer me an Ad!! THNX!!

Digi Reload Contest Media Launch!

This is not actually a review, but of a promo event of Digi Reload Contest Media Launch at 1U today!! I'm rather proud because bloggers are invited to the media launch as we are recognized as being a part of the media and press. So, Nuffnang's Glitteratis get to go! X'P We were given a plastic aquarium containing a milipede (I think so) with a key. There's 80 of these things (which 30 were allocated to Nuffnang bloggers), which 3 of the keys can open the lock to get 3 iPod Shuffle. Cool huh?

The event's is fear factor style of course, so let the photos do the talking.

Playing the Snake and Ladder Game which is no joke. You've to do stunts if you land on certain squares.

The main stage

Robb is trapped!! Lol!!

These are the insect eating challenge. Should be crunchy and yummy.

Gourmet Bamboo Worm, taste like Twisties

Wait a second, how do I know? Well, actually the Digi people offered me one of those worms and ask me to try it. With my ego the size of a black hole at the moment, I took it calmly. She said that it tasted like Twisties, so I took it in a few bites just to savor the taste.
It did taste like Twisties, perhaps they use corn to fry this. I told her that it really tasted like Twisties.

And she replied, " Really arh? Really taste like Twisties arh?"

Dang!! If she wasn't a female, I had go cursing @%&%*^$@#! She didn't taste it herself at all!!

So, let me describe the taste here for all the Ewghs and Argghs.. When you take the first bite, your teeth sink through the cuticle layer which is crunchy. Then it goes deeper into some hollow space where the taste of corn (Twisties) really make its presence. Of course, it's not that bad, until the slight taste of worm lingers in your mouth for quite some time before it goes off. The thought of it made me feel nauseous indeed. Okay, so next photo please!!

Sauteed Bugs (They say taste like chicken, but I'll never want to know)

Savoury Silk Worm

Crunchy Crickets

Yummy Baby Grasshopper

Stay in the snake den for Photo Shooting!!

The Digi man who took the challenge to stay in the small booth with 160 scorpions!!1 thing I learnt: Scorpions like ass, they might like balls, and they really like ass!!

DiGi's Senior Marcom Consultant tried to hold an Iguana for photo session but look at her worried look!! X'P

This is a Gecko!!

As part of the media, we get to enjoy food. Yummy and tasty refreshments indeed.

Drinks for us too. I like the soda with lime, chilled.

After the launch, Nuffnang bloggers played the Snake and Ladder game, lead by Robb.

Kissing the Iguana during the Snake and Ladder game is one of the stunts. I heard from some aunties nearby that the Iguana turn its face because her mouth 'berbau'. -.-" What a remark..
Putting a hand in a box full of crickets to get a rubbery gecko.

This is a better way to take a photo with the snake. --> Face to face
Or maybe she's too pretty that the snake had to stare at her!! X'P

After that, the keys from the aquarium were used to try to pry open the locks to the 3 iPod Shuffle. 2 Nuffnang bloggers and another media representative got them. I didn't take a photo because I wasn't there. I knew I wouldn't win, so didn't even try my key. Hehe..

After a long day, I reached home to take photo of my goodie bag!! The plastic aquarium had my centipede in it.

Basically, it's quite an enjoyable experience. It did gave me the exposure of how a media launch is like, and how the organizers try to attract the journalists and advertising teams from major newspaper so that they could write good reviews on it. I had more photos of the reptiles, but I'm just lazy to put it up. Maybe other bloggers who had a better camera would be putting them up, so be patient!! n_n

Oh ya, before that, just want you to know that information of the contest can be found at: www.digi.com.my
