The Enemy of my Enemy is NOT My Friend
The Menteri Besar has been decided earlier today, with Perak PAS secretary Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin being appointed by the Sultan of Perak. With this, PAS, which have the smallest number of state seats in Perak of the coalition party, shall set to rule the state. The DAP central executive committee (CEC) is very unhappy over it, thus boycotting the swearing-in ceremony for Perak Mentri Besar scheduled tomorrow(13 March 2008).

There's been turmoil during this post-election state where the individual parties in the coalition DAP-PKR-PAS Barisan Rakyat try to wrestle for power and dominance. How could such thing happen?
There are also other dissatisfaction such as:
1. Anwar mentioned that Mentri Besar of Perak should be a Malay. Yes, it's true, but he had promised that it would be a democratic ruling under them, so shouldn't DAP rep be the MB? DAP has the most state seats in Perak, so they should be able to rule. But then, I'm not complaining either cos I'm not from Perak, and the PAS candidate is the most qualified. What I am stressing here is that Anwar was just a sweet talker. Everyone knows that, just that we hate the government so much that we decided to give them a big slap.
2. DAP is not joining the Kedah state government in the coalition. The sole DAP rep was invited to join as a state EXCO initially by PAS, but PKR objected against it. They say they'll put a Chinses rep from PKR instead if they want a Chinese rep in Kedah. Isn't this a power crazy act again? Kudos to PAS though for the invitation.
3. DAP's Teresa Kok voiced her doubts and wary over a PAS-led government in Perak. DAP has mentioned that they are wary of PAS publicly, making the loose coalition looser than ever.
With this, the outcome of the 2008 12th General Election is getting more exciting. This is the year of Change. Can Lim Guan Eng carry his duty as Chief Minister well? Will the 5 states under the opposition bloom well? Will BN repent and buck up to serve the people and not hoping the people to serve them? Only time shall tell. The wind of Change always has its setback, but it shows that our democracy is maturing. We could only hope for a better future for Malaysia, for Malaysians. The bright future may not be here in 5 years time, or perhaps 10. But in the long run, we shall mature soon enough to dare to voice out and have our say.
